Chemical peeling is a cosmetic procedure used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin by applying a chemical solution to exfoliate the outer layers of damaged or aging skin. It is a popular treatment for various skin concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, and texture irregularities. During a chemical peel, a solution containing one or more types of chemical exfoliants, such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or phenol, is applied to the skin and left on for a specific amount of time.
