Fibroblast is the basic cell of the connective tissue and its shape is flat, long and oval. It may have 1-2 nuclei, its cytoplasm is extended and, like every cell, it has very important functions in the organism. The most important of these is to create the structure in which the cells are located. Namely, this intercellular structure that gives shine, softness and flexibility to the skin consists of collagen and elastin. The task of fibroblasts is to produce these substances that are extremely important for the skin. Another important function of the fibroblast is to activate the organism’s wound-healing system when there is an injury to the skin.
Over time, fibroblasts in the organism lose the ability to produce collagen and elastin. Fibroblasts, especially in the sun-exposed part of the skin, are damaged by effects such as radioactivity in sunlight and their numbers decrease over time. As a result, the skin loses its vitality, collapses, sags and wrinkles begin to form. In order to eliminate these negative effects, it is necessary to give the skin fibroblasts that do their job correctly. If fibroblasts are taken from another person, the organism will perceive these cells as foreign and try to get rid of them. Naturally, giving fibroblast cells taken from the person’s own self is the best solution.
Fibroblast application is carried out as follows: A small piece of lentil size (3-4 mm) is taken from the part of the skin that is not exposed to the sun, for example, behind the ear, without disturbing the aesthetics. These fibroblasts are sent to a laboratory approved by the Turkish Ministry of Health. In addition, serum is separated from the blood taken from the person and placed in the culture medium. As a result of culture (within 4-6 weeks), fibroblasts are proliferated sufficiently. The replicated fibroblasts are sent to the patient’s physician, who injects them into the necessary parts of the body with a very thin needle. This treatment is performed for 2-3 sessions at regular intervals. 1-2 ml of fibroblasts are given in each session. The rest is frozen and stored in the laboratory.
Fibroblast treatment, also known as fibroblast skin tightening or plasma fibroblast therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that aims to tighten and rejuvenate the skin. It involves the use of a device that emits a small electrical arc to target specific areas of the skin. During the procedure, the device creates tiny micro-injuries in the skin’s surface, which stimulates the body’s natural healing response and promotes the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. As a result, the skin appears tighter, smoother, and more youthful over time.Fibroblast treatment is often used to address various skin concerns, including wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and acne scars. It can be performed on different areas of the body, such as the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
